Hey Harlan,
I recently transferred to the same school as my boyfriend. One of my new friends seems to have a crush on my boyfriend. She constantly talks about him. She's even tells me how to tell him to dress because "he looks so hot that way." I am not threatened, because my boyfriend has told me that he loves me and is in no way attracted to her, but nonetheless I'm uncomfortable. I mention jokingly to her, "What are you - in love with my boyfriend or something?" She just laughs it off, so clearly it isn't working. How can I let her know that talking about my boyfriend more than I do is unnecessary and makes me uncomfortable?

Hey don't worry about this just tell your mate how you feel, and that you are glad she likes you boyfriend but he should back off a bit.
ReplyDeleteDear tired of hearing it, you have every right to want to say back off. But, it might upset your friend if you come right out and say it. So put your point across gently by first asking her what she finds attractive or sexy about your boyfriend and then you can try to help her get a boyfriend of her own. This is basically a way of saying, I'm happy that you find my boyfriend attractive, but please lay off him a little and find one for yourself.
